Towards a Baseline: Best Estimates of Social Indicators for Southern Sudan (2004), SSCCSE/UNICEF.

In order to meet the demand for reliable baseline social indicators on Southern Sudan, the SSCCSE, with support from UNICEF Operation Lifeline Sudan (OLS), initiated a project to review, evaluate and compile all existing data to refine baseline data on basic social indicators in October 2003. The resulting data provided in this publication presents the best estimates and represent as well a statistical starting point for Southern Sudan. This publication contains data collected by many organisations operating in Southern Sudan and we have acknowledged these sources throughout the document.
